Sandra Fletcher

 
 

Sandra has left a huge imprint on all of us.  She the loyal friend, compassionate teacher, generous, caring, strong mother and grandmother.  We will see her at the beach, in our gardens, she will be in our thoughts and venture into our art and our dreams.  I will feel her when I see lavender and delphinium,  I will think of her when I pass a secondhand store,  I will remember her.




















Sandra found strength and respect in rug hooking, her natural ability was seen early, and Sandra was encouraged to enter the McGown teachers training program. Hailed as a gifted teacher with a keen eye, patience and her ability to zone in on a students strengths and weaknesses to bring out their confidence and the joy in rug hooking. When attending her class you received more than just technical expertise on hooking: you were also availed of her life's wisdom. I have never met anyone as intuitive as Sandra. When asked to describe her, her friends most often words were: ‘fierce, loyal and compassionate‘”. These are words that applied to all aspects of Sandra’s life.
